I had someone send me a private message on Facebook asking about Christmas light displays here in Cambridge. It just so happened that Keith and I were driving around a few nights prior and were very disappointed at the lack of lights that were on most houses. I realize that not all people celebrate Christmas, but there really weren’t that many houses decorated. The best street we found was Aberdeen Road South. Most of the houses had lights on them and they also had lights in their trees.
I did a bit of research and found that if you want to see lights...and I mean a lot of lights, you have to do a tour of some of the local parks. In Cambridge, Central Park in Preston has light displays. They also have synthetic ice so you can go skating in all weather. Victoria Park in Kitchener also has displays as does Waterloo Park. In fact, Waterloo Park also has horse trolley rides from 6pm – 9pm (excluding Christmas). They run until December 31st and are FREE, lasting 10 – 15 minutes.
If anyone else has suggestions of place to see lights, send me an email Amanda@AmandaMaxwell.com, and I will add it to the list! Merry Christmas!
