Top 5 Places for Valentines Day Dinner in Cambridge

Valentine's day is a week and a half away!  Have you made your plans yet?  Here are a few suggestions of romantic places to take your Valentine in Cambridge.

1) Monty's:  For a unique yet romantic night out, why not make a reservation for Monty's? The food is unique because they serve tapas, which is small portions of delicious food, and they have an awesome wine & beer list.  I recommend you do the chef's selection where you tell them how much you want to spend and any dietary restrictions and they simply bring out food.  Whatever is on their menu is sure to be good as the food is always great and it makes for a memorable night out.

2) The Blackshop: This restaurant is one of casual elegance.  The ambiance is warm and rich and the food is simply fabulous.  They have a Valentine's Day menu where you get a 3 course meal for $50 per person.  There are 7 different options for your main meal, so there is sure to be something on the menu for everyone.

3) Cambridge Mill:  This is an obvious choice since it boasts stunning views of the Grand River.  For a quiet night, I recommend sitting in the older area and not the glass room since I find it harder to hear.  Although no special Valentine's menu is posted on their website, their regular menu has many items for a special night out.

4) The Naked Oyster: For the seafood lovers there is a new bar in town called The Naked Oyster.  Located on Queen St in the old Monty's, the ambiance is charming and I hear the food is fantastic.    The menu is focused mainly on seafood and has very little options for those who don't partake in seafood.

5) The Bruce:  Sometime The Bruce gets overlooked since it's part of the Cambridge Hotel & Conference Centre.  However, the food is excellent and the atmosphere dark and romantic.  The Bruce is offering a 4 course Valentine's Day dinner for $36.95.  It starts off with Chef's choice of tapas, then you get your choice of starter, main and dessert.  It's a pretty good deal if you ask me!

Want to stay home for Valentine's Day? If you don't want to go out, but want to stay in and put the kids to bed early you should check out National Pasta on Struck Ct (Off Pinebush Rd).  They have pre-made lasagna that is to die for.  Lets put it this way, my husband says the homemade one I make isn't much better!  So grab a lasagna, head down the street to Zehr's for a Caesar salad and some bread, grab a bottle of wine and voila!
