Cambridge has a rich history of Scottish heritage and culture. From Galt founder William Dickson, to the architectural influence in the downtown core, to our 20,000+ current residents with Scottish ethnicity, Cambridge's Scottish roots are evident and once again ready to be celebrated at this year's 40th annual Cambridge Highland Games happening this weekend at Churchill Park.
Kicking off the festivities on Friday evening is the Family Dance & CEILIDH, which celebrates an evening of Celtic music and dance from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. in Duncan McIntosh Community Centre ... $5 for adults and children under 12 are free! McCairley & MacLean will entertain with Scottish songs and step dancers. From 8:15-10pm, join for a traditional Celtic ceilidh, featuring performances by The Guelph Celtic Orchestra and the Blair Scottish Country Dancers. Audience participation is encouraged, so bring your dancing shoes and join for a spin around the dance floor!
